According to a report from KUTV, Utah doctor Andrew Pavia is urging young people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as hospitals across the country are seeing spikes in cases among their age group. The University of Utah doctor shared a New York Times article that focuses on COVID numbers in Michigan, which is where the current COVID-19 outbreaks are the worst. The article says what they’re seeing in Michigan is starting to become a nationwide trend.
The article also says people aged 65 and older are greatly reducing transmission rates among their age group because many of them are fully vaccinated.
One doctor who cited the article said they are putting younger patients on oxygen and life support more often than any other time during the pandemic.
