Romney Receives Award For Voting To Impeach Donald Trump

On Sunday, Sen. Mitt Romney accepted the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage award. He was named the recipient of the award from the JFK Foundation because of his vote to convict former President Donald Trump in his first impeachment trial. He was the first U.S. Senator in history to vote for the conviction of a president belonging to the same party. According to KUTV, the Profile in Courage award honors political figures who embrace unpopular positions “for the greater good,” at risk of their own careers.

Romney’s actions have led to criticism from many Utah Republicans. For example, earlier this month, he was booed during his speech at the Utah GOP Convention.
