Recent Poll Shows Majority Of Utahns Desire Further Firework Restrictions

According to a recent public opinion poll, Utahns aren’t very divided when it comes to further restrictions on fireworks this year.

The poll from the Deseret News/Hinckley Institute of Politics showed that 74% of Utahns believe fireworks should be restricted this year due to the drought Utah is facing.

39% of Utahns said they would prefer only government entities to light fireworks during official events and 35% said they would prefer fireworks to not be used at all this year. Only 16% said no additional fireworks restrictions should be put in place.

Currently, fireworks are restricted in areas where the risk of wildfire is too high and citizens are encouraged to check a statewide list of local firework restrictions on the Utah Department of Public Safety’s website which will be updated if any new restrictions are placed.
