Mormon Miracle Pageant, Makeshift Site For Debate Over Salvation

Manti Mormon Miracle Pageant

This summer marks the fiftieth year of the Mormon Miracle Pageant in Manti, a rural farming community in central Utah with a population around 3,000 people. The pageant depicts the events published in the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith’s founding of the LDS church, and the Utah pioneer’s migration west.

During the pageant's two week run Manti's population booms as people travel from all over the country for the event.  Among the visitors are a sizable group of Evangelical Christian missionaries who use the pageant as an opportunity to speak to Mormons about how the LDS Church is lying to them.
