Body found in Salt Lake City canal

Police have confirmed a person’s body was found in a canal by a passerby in Salt Lake City near Redwood Road on Sunday.Police were called just before 11 a.m. after someone walking by the canal saw the body. Police say they are unsure on why the body is there, what the cause of death is or how long it has been there. The body has not yet been identified.

 

Fire teams responded to help officers pull the body out of the canal. They say this took several hours.

 

Police ask anyone with additional information on the incident to contact Salt Lake authorities.
