Construction is underway on a new high school to serve students living in Cache Valley's Millville, Providence, and Nibley. Increased foot traffic is expected near the high school where a state road runs alongside the Blacksmith Fork River.
Nibley city officials say they are working with an engineering firm to come up with a plan to realign a T-intersection along SR-165 at 3200 South. Right now a traffic signal controlling traffic in two directions is located at the intersection next to a busy convenience store. The current plan allows northbound traffic to flow through the intersection constantly.
A public hearing will be held Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. by city officials who will take comments on three options designed to improve safety, including a roundabout or an S-curve design. The engineering firm of Civil Solutions Group will also discuss a four-way stop option.
