County leaders in Utah have announced plans to consider selling a county-owned equestrian center to help close a budget gap despite opposition from members in the horse community. KUTV-TV reported Thursday that Utah County commissioners voted to accept bids on the North County Equestrian Park valued at about $10 million. Commissioners say the park costs the county up to $80,000 yearly. Commissioners say the park could be sold to a developer or nearby city, partially sold or rented out for events. Officials say more than 4,000 people have signed an online petition to keep and improve the facility.
