A weekend gathering of hundreds of people at a Salt Lake City airport parking garage to welcome home Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints missionaries drew strong rebukes Monday and triggered a new set of rules to prevent it from happening again. Photos and videos show hundreds of people gathered Sunday night inside the airport's parking lot to greet 900 missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints returning from the Philippines. Many people stood shoulder-to-shoulder. There are no confirmed cases of coronavirus among the missionaries who were serving. The city, church and airport issued new rules Monday to try and prevent it from happening again.
