Gubernatorial candidate Jeff Burningham has announced he picked Republican state Sen. Dan McCay as his running mate in Utah. Burningham says he has been searching for a candidate since January and wanted someone who had legislative experience and valued public service. The announcement came Wednesday during a meeting with Republican Party delegates. Burningham is one of several GOP candidates for governor. McCay has served in the state Legislature for about eight years and won’t be up for reelection to his seat until 2022.
