Utah tailor Sues State Police Agencies Over Shooting At Shop

A Utah tailor has filed a lawsuit against law enforcement agencies in the state over officers firing nearly 200 rounds into his shop. The Deseret News reports Thaer Mahdi says he has not recovered from trauma he claims was caused by the April 2019 shooting. Mahdi is suing the Salt Lake City Police Department, Unified Police Department and Utah Highway Patrol. Mahdi was working inside when a pickup truck driven by Harold Vincent Robinson crashed into the shop after leading police on a car chase. Robinson had fired at least 50 shots from his truck and was killed by police.
