City of Logan Pioneer Day Parade and Celebration
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Logan regretfully announces the cancellation of the City of Logan Pioneer Day Parade and Celebration scheduled for Friday, July 24, 2020 at Willow Park. The cancellation comes as a result of disruption to the planning for the Pioneer Day Celebration, current recommendations regarding social distancing at mass gatherings and public events, and financial impact to event sponsors. Logan Aquatic Center
The City of Logan announces the closure of the Logan Aquatic Center for the 2020 season in order to take care of long-needed capital improvements, many of which can only be done during warm weather. Next year will be the pool's 20th anniversary season, and we look forward to a grand reopening slated for Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, 2021
Logan City Justice Courts
Logan Justice Court is still open during regular business hours. However, pursuant to Utah Supreme Court Order for Operations During Pandemic, dated 3/13/2020, hearings are cancelled except for in custody hearings, bench warrant hearings, trials for individuals being held in custody, domestic violence hearings, and sentence hearings. Logan Library
UPDATE: Due to the spike in COVID-19 cases, the Logan Library is again closing to the public beginning Monday, June 8th, 2020. Pick It Up service will be open from 10-a.m. - 5 p.m. The library will continue to offer the Books By Mail program as well, and will provide updates as they come. The library encourages you to follow all health and safety guidelines by wearing masks and washing your hands often.
As a precautionary measure due to the threat of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the City of Logan will close the Logan Library and Logan Community Recreation Center to the public beginning Saturday March 14th. The anticipated reopen date is Monday March 30th.

UPDATE 5/26/2020: Starting Tuesday, May 26, 2020, the ICON (upstairs) weight room at the Logan Community Recreation Center, 195 S 100 w, will be closed to the public from 7:30am-11:30am. This closure is to accommodate Logan High School Athletics summer weight training and will meet COVID-19 guidelines. During this time the two downstairs weight room areas will remain open to the public.

Small Satellite Conference 2020
The health and safety of participants at the Small Satellite Conference 2020 is our primary concern. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Small Satellite Conference will be held in a virtual format with no on-site presence. The virtual conference will include keynote and invited speakers, oral presentations, exhibitor and sponsor information, university exhibits, poster presentations, Swifty presentations, NASA short talks, side meeting information, the Frank J. Redd Student Competition, a student poster competition, Mission of the Year Award, SpaceNews Show Dailies and more. The SmallSat 2020 Virtual Conference will be held free of charge. The Family Place
Due to COVID-19 we have modified our summer camps this year. Our staff, while wearing personal protective gear, have prepared fun summer camp kits for your children to do at home. Each kit is $25. We have five themes: The Family Place Olympic Games, Discovering the Decades, Get Your Game On, The Great Outdoors, and World Traveler camp kits. The library is open! Summer hours are Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Key things to know:
- The Summer Reading Program events are now on Tuesdays in Vernal and throughout the county at various times and locations. More information on the Uinta County Library websiteand Facebook page.
- Families are welcome to come. We encourage people to wear masks, though they are not required.
-We have a ton of new books we've been stocking up on for you to read.
- Computers and study rooms are available. Be sure to check with the staff for the latest requirements.
-We're once again taking bookings for our larger meeting rooms. For the time being we have limited groups of 25 for the community room and groups of up to 12 can use the second floor meeting room.
-The Teen room will be open soon with some COVID-19 procedures in place.
-The biggest change is that visitors to the library should keep their visits to about 30 minutes.
Utah Arts Alliance
The Urban Arts Gallery is excited to be open for normal business hours (Tuesday through Sunday, 12-9pm, closed Mondays) starting Friday, May 15th. Staff and customers must wear masks. Gallery staff may limit entry at any time. Staff members may enact further precautionary policies if it becomes necessary.

Utah State University
UPDATE: 2020 Commencement celebrations have been cancelled. USU President Noelle Cockett notes there has been discussion of future possibilities. Specific details remain unclear given the uncertainties surrounding the pandemic, but the university will revisit plans for an in person event once the risk of COVID-19 infection decreases significantly. At that time, USU will provide more information to the class of 2020.

USU Athletics Summer Camps
Due to new NCAA legislation passed in response to the COVID-19 virus, all Utah State Athletics summer camps have been cancelled. The new legislation extends the current recruiting dead period in all sports through July 31, thereby cancelling all scheduled camps and visits. USU Extension
The Institute of Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Basecamp 2020 event will take place in Tucson, Arizona November 9-11, 2020. As travel restrictions begin to lift, the Basecamp Conference and Workshop is still on track. In light of the pandemic, we have dedicated a set of sessions to lessons learned from COVID-19. The sessions will bring together researchers and managers to discuss lessons learned over the course of the virus' spread across the West.
