Often contemporary arts presents a drop-in style embroidery class at studio 32 with Alix Twiggs Wright! On Friday February 6th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. 🧵✨

This drop-in style workshop invites participants of all ages and experience levels to learn the basics of hand sewing and embroidery while making something uniquely their own. Participants will choose or create a simple design and use sticky water-soluble paper to attach it directly to fabric or clothing. Once the design is stitched, the paper washes away and your left with your beautiful embroidery design.

Participants are welcome to bring an item from home (clothing, tote bags, fabric, etc.) There will also be fabric and tote bags available to use. The workshop encourages creativity, self-expression, and “reclaiming” or repurposing existing items by adding personal meaning, identity, or new life through stitching.

Safer and simpler materials, such as burlap and plastic needles, will be available for younger participants or anyone who prefers a different option. No prior sewing experience is required!

This workshop is FREE, family-friendly, and open to all skill levels—no experience needed!
