Digital Art: Procreate for Beginners (Ages 12-17)
Digital Art: Procreate for Beginners (Ages 12-17)
A teen digital art camp for beginners is at the Highland Community Center June 1st through 5th from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
Let’s explore digital tools and unlock fresh, imaginative ways to create amazing artwork!
Procreate is a powerful yet playful digital art app for iPad that expands opportunities for illustration, animation, and creative collage. In this camp, students will discover tips and techniques to help transform their ideas into vibrant, one-of-a-kind digital artworks they can even print and share.
Throughout the week, students will learn and practice digitally drawing, coloring, layering, masking, and adding special effects to their artwork. Camp projects will include designing and illustrating original characters, bringing stories to life through comic art, and creating fun, hand-drawn GIF animations that move across the screen.
The creative possibilities for Procreate artists are endless!
Visual Art Institute has iPads and Apple Pencils available for student use during camp days. If your student has their own iPad and Apple Pencil and would like to bring it, they are welcome to. Please let your student know that there will be no internet browsing allowed during camp, and any required reference photos will be provided by the teacher.

CLASS CANCELLATION:
We find that students learn better in groups. If we feel the number of registrations is too low to promote a good learning environment, we may cancel the class. In the event we cancel a class, we will reach out to you as soon as possible.
TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM:
We try to make our classes as accessible to everyone as possible. We are able to offer a limited number of tuition assistance scholarships each term. You can complete an application on our website or call our office for assistance applying. Applications are available in Spanish and English.
MULTI-CLASS DISCOUNT:
When you register for more than one class, you can receive a discount up to 10% per class! You must call and register through the front office for this discount.
ADA ACCESSIBILITY & ACCOMMODATIONS:
Some courses may involve tasks or activities that may be difficult for individuals with limited strength, difficulty bending over, and sitting or standing for long periods of time. We are happy to work with students to find solutions to make their experience positive and doable. For example, wheel throwing takes arm strength and bending over the wheel. Students may work on hand-building projects instead of throwing. Please reach out to our office to discuss your needs.
