Hurricane Historical Sites Field Trip set for Saturday, March 14

The public is invited to participate in a free field trip to four historic sites in Hurricane on Saturday, March 14 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Valley Heritage Museum.

Participants should meet at the Hurricane Valley Heritage Museum (Hurricane Pioneer Museum), 35 West State, Hurricane, Utah, at 10 a.m., where the tour will begin, and will be led by Museum Director Phylis Lawton.
The length of the tour (which will highlight how the city of Hurricane was founded and developed) is estimated to run from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
We will then walk across the street to the historic Bradshaw House, 95 South Main (sometimes listed as 85 South Main) where the tour will be led by either Phylis Lawton or her son, Clint Lawton.
That tour will run from 10:30 to 11 a.m.
We will then drive to the “Hurricane Fort” at 870 North 100 West in Hurricane where the tour will be led by Hurricane educator and storyteller Reuben Wadsworth from 11 to 11:30 a.m. There is an option of climbing up a short hill to reach the actual site.
The final stop on the Historical Society tour will be to drive to the Hurricane Canal Monument at approximately 200 North and 200 East (located at the east dead-end of the block) where Reuben Wadsworth will also tell about the history of the Hurricane Canal. That tour will run from 11:30 a.m. to noon.
