Rare Opportunity to View $1,000,000 Mormon Gold Coin

Rare Opportunity to View $1,000,000 Mormon Gold Coin

Rare Coin on Display at the Utah Coin Show, Sept 27 - 28 from 10 AM - 6 PM. A Million Dollar coin minted in the Utah Territory, called "Mormon Gold" by collectors will be on display both days at the All About Coins booth.

In 1848 on Brigham Young’s orders, the Utah Territory set up its very own mint. Some of the gold found in the California gold rush was carried home by Mormon miners to Salt Lake City. Known in the numismatic community as “Mormon Gold” these pieces are rare, as most were melted down in the 1850s. Only about twenty 1849 $20 Mormon gold pieces are known and some of them are owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The finest certified and graded coin still in existence will be on display on September 27 and 28, 2024 at the Utah Numismatic Society’s upcoming Utah Coin Show. This coin is worth more than a million dollars. Today, this coin is owned by an individual dealer and has not been on display for several years.

Cost for the show is $5.00 per person or $10.00 per family.
