Three members of the University of Utah’s gymnastics team, the Utah Red Rocks, are heading to Tokyo this summer to represent the United States.
Utes Alum MyKayla Skinner qualified to compete in an individual spot after the final day of the U.S. Olympics Trials on Sunday. She was previously named a Team USA alternate in 2016. Grace McCallum, who is set to begin her U of U career this coming school year, came in fourth in the trials and will be a member of the four-woman Olympic team. Kara Eaker, another incoming freshman, qualified as an alternate.
All three finished in the top seven at the trials. McCallum finished fourth overall, Skinner finished fifth and Eaker placed seventh.
Joining McCallum on the four-woman team will be Simone Biles, Sunisa Lee and Jordan Chiles.
