New Lieutenant Governor Tours Autoliv Facility in Brigham City With Students

Spencer Cox, Lt. Governor,

Utah's new Lieutenant Governor, Spencer Cox, spent part of Thursday in Brigham City touring a robotics facility.  The tour of Autoliv Northern America included students interested in robotics training.

There are 80 Autoliv facilities producing airbag and other automotive safety products in 29 countries.  One of those facilities is located in the Northern Utah farming community of Brigham City.
Cox toured the Autoliv manufacturing facility along with students from the Bridgerland Applied Technology College.

High-tech companies, like Autoliv, are having a hard time filling open jobs because of the specialized skillset.  To help meet the demands of finding qualified and skilled employees the state has created the Utah Cluster Acceleration Partnership (UCAP) to provide $2 million in grant money to expand higher education programs.  Bridgerland Applied Technology College has received more than $174,000 of that money to enhance their robotics program.
