Police: Utah Sledgehammer Assault Suspect Arrested, Charged
Authorities in Utah say a teenager was arrested and booked on multiple charges stemming from an alleged sledgehammer attack in Payson.
The Daily Herald reported that the Payson Police Department responded to a report Friday that a person was witnessed hitting a man in the head with a sledgehammer. The suspect then reportedly struck multiple children and an adult with his fists after being yelled at by a neighbor. Police say they were able to identify the suspect, who turned himself into police without incident Saturday. The 17-year-old was not identified. He was booked on multiple charges including attempted aggravated murder. The conditions of those injured were unclear Monday.
