Salt Lake City Homeless Community Prepares For Winter

A homeless shelter in Salt Lake City has asked the public for help with clothing donations as it prepares for the upcoming winter season in Utah.

FOX13 reported that the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake usually hands out up to 80,000 clothing items ahead of the colder months each year to people living on the street. Executive Director Chris Croswhite said he believes the coronavirus pandemic and fears of being shutdown have reduced the amount of clothing they have had to give away. Croswhite also said he believes homeless resource providers have seen an increase in demand this year, which is exacerbated by a loss of available shelter space.
