Gov. Spencer Cox Signs Bill Targeting Utah Drivers And Their Turn Signals

H.B. 69, which amends Utah’s traffic code, was signed by Governor Spencer Cox on Tuesday. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Calvin Musselman and Sen. Chris Wilson, clarifies the state’s laws with regard to using turn signals when merging and objects that might obstruct a driver’s view.

Utah drivers are now required to use their turn signals to merge to another lane when their lane is ending and are prohibited from operating a vehicle when their view is obstructed.
