Utah Tops Nation In Population Percentage Increase, No Changes Made To Congressional Seats

According to Census data and a report from KSL, Utah was the fastest-growing state in the nation over the past decade. However, this growth wasn’t large enough to provide the state an additional congressional seat.Data from the Census Bureau found Utah’s population as of April 1, 2020 was 3,271,616, an increase of 507,725 people from 2010. With a population growth of 18.4%, Utah led all states in terms of percentage increase growth. States that followed closely behind were Idaho (17.3%), Texas (15.9%), North Dakota (15.8%), and Nevada (15%).

Utah’s growth wasn’t enough to match growth in other states to gain congressional seats, which some experts previously estimated weeks ago.
