Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate, Nick Mitchell, challenges the two-term incumbent Republican Senator Mike Lee for the office.

Mitchell, a thirty-year-old Black man from Salt Lake City, went to high school in Provo. His campaign focuses on three main issues: developing renewable energy sources, implementing universal healthcare, and protecting workers from unfair business practices. So far, three Republicans, three Democrats, and two Independents are vying for nomination. If elected, Mitchell would be the first minority individual representing Utah in the U.S. Senate.
