The FDA endorses Johnson and Johnson's COVID-19 booster

The Food and Drug Administration has unanimously endorsed Johnson and Johnson’s COVIDvaccine booster shot for everyone 18 and older. These boosters are recommended to all Americans who received the first dose at least two months ago.

Johnson and Johnson say their booster shot increases protection from moderate cases of the virus to 94% in the United States, and they say the booster gives 100% protection against severe cases.

The FDA has already approved boosters for the Pfizer vaccine. Pfizer boosters are currently being administered. Moderna’s vaccine has also been endorsed for at-risk adults and seniors.
