Home sales decline along Wasatch Front while prices remain high


Home sales across the Wasatch Front reportedly declined in October compared to the previous year, and prices remain high, according to new data from to the data, the number of home sales in Salt Lake City fell 21 percent last month compared to October 2020. Davis County saw a 26 percent decrease. Utah, Weber, and Tooele counties also saw drops in overall home sales, but there was a slight rise in the number of single-family homes sold in Tooele County last month.


President of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors Matt Ulrich says while home sales have recently slowed, it is very common for properties to have multiple offers, meaning the number of people looking for homes hasn’t declined, just the amount of homes available.


Homes continue to sell quickly. According to the Salt Lake Board of Realtors, a typical house in Salt Lake County sold in just eight days last month.
