Snow-covered trees in Utah

A winter storm brought more than a foot of snow to areas of northern Utah Wednesday, including Tooele, Cottonwood Heights, Millcreek, Holladay, South Jordan, West Jordan and Sandy. Many schools along the Wasatch Front decided to conduct remote learning for the day or delay start times.

While the snow dump benefits mountain ski resorts, Utah Highway Patrol troopers spent the early morning helping motorists that had crashed or slid off the road due to the storm.

The weather system is expected to move south through central Utah Wednesday afternoon but with lesser snowfall.
