New Exhibition—Healing Waters: Restoring Our Relationship with Utah Lake
Utah Valley University Museum of Art invites the community to celebrate a beloved community resource, Utah Lake, at the opening reception for the Museum’s latest exhibit, Healing Waters: Restoring Our Relationship with Utah Lake. Guests will experience art that examines the region's connection with this vital body of water throughout history, highlighted through a juried exhibition of fine art by 50 regional artists; two solo projects by invited artists Downy Doxey-Marshall and Shirin Abedinirad; highlights from Utah Lake’s history with contributions from the BYU Museum of Peoples and Cultures, Conserve Utah Valley, and the Utah Lake Authority; a Community Memories display; and a juried showcase.
Attendees will also hear live music and have the option to explore a one-day-only art installation of a meditative labyrinth created from native Utah Lake reeds.
The Museum encourages guests to participate in related events hosted throughout the valley to honor Utah Lake, from May through September. Please visit www.uvu.edu/museum for more information.
