The St. George Fishing Derby is hosted at the Tawa Ponds from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6th, 2024. 

Children, 12 & under, are invited. Fishing poles and bait will be available for children who do not own their own poles. Participants and spectators are encouraged to bring a cooler for caught fish and a chair for seating.

Throughout the Derby, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources will be conducting brief fishing etiquette while donated prizes will be given out to participating children. The goal of the Derby sponsors is to ensure that all area children have the opportunity to experience and learn the joy of fishing.

The Derby is co-sponsored by the Southern Utah Anglers and the City of St. George. Other sponsors of the Fishing Derby include: Dixie Wildlife Federation, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, Hurst’s Hardware, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Cal Ranch, SCI members and House of Jump.
