A judge will hear testimony today to determine if the second teen accused of shooting a 14-year-old girl should be tried as an adult. Juvenile court judge Angela Fonnesbeck will hear from witnesses called by the state. Prosecuting attorney James Swink says he will call experts from juvenile and adult prison facilities to testify the 16-year-old committed an aggravated crime that warrants his spending time in the adult prison system.
On Monday, juvenile court judge Angela Fonnesbeck ruled the boy's friend, 16-year-old Jayzon Decker, should be tried as an adult for his role in plotting to kill Deserae Turner. Decker is scheduled to appear in district court on Thursday.
