Idaho Law Enforcement Investigates Officer-Involved Shooting In Preston

Law enforcement officials in Idaho are investigating an officer-involved shooting after a man was shot and killed Tuesday night.  

The Eastern Idaho Critical Incident Team and the Pocatello Police Department are taking the lead on the investigation of the incident that happened in Preston, Idaho.

According to a statement from Franklin County Sheriff David Fryar and Preston Police Chief Dan McCammon, officers responded to a suspicious incident call at 217 South State Street.

Chief McCammon says the man officers shot was escorted out of the Stokes Marketplace when he pulled out a knife. Officers used a taser before shooting the man.

Authorities are expected to release additional information about the shooting on Thursday.

At 14-years-old, Kerry began working as a reporter for KVEL “The Hot One” in Vernal, Utah. She graduated USU with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and spent the next few years working for Utah Public Radio.
