Light Rail Fuels Residential Housing Boom In South Salt Lake

Wikipedia

The light rail line that goes through the suburb of South Salt Lake has fueled a residential housing boom over the last four years. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that more than 2,800 apartments, town houses and other homes have been built near TRAX lines and stations since 2015 in the city of 25,000 residents that stretches over just seven square miles. The suburb's building boom is an example of how Utah cities are trying to surround public transit lines with high-density housing complexes to spur residents to leave their cars at home and reduce air pollution.
