Man Deliberately Uses Fireworks To Set Fire In Perry

Brigham City fire officials are looking for a suspect they say used fireworks to purposely ignite a grass fire in Perry.According to the Brigham City fire department, the man drove up to the area near the mouth of Perry Canyon on Saturday, lit the fireworks and drove away once the fire had started. Luckily, a Box Elder County fire warden, who was returning from another grass fire, saw what had happened and was able to extinguish the flames.

This incident comes as many cities across the state are banning the use of personal fireworks due to Utah’s extreme drought conditions.

Anyone with information on the man who started the Perry fire is asked to contact the Brigham City Fire Marshal or the Perry City Police Department.
