The first Maverik gas station was founded in Afton, Wyoming almost 100 years ago. One more Cache Valley location opened last week. More gas stations will be opening in the next two weeks.
Maverik has 264 gas stations in ten states, making it the 34thranked roadside convenient store in the nation according to Bloomberg Business. The new location on 2495 N Main Street in North Logan, is one of the many gas stations in Cache Valley and Utah.
In the next two weeks, Maverik will have more locations open in South Logan, one close to the Utah State University campus on 800 E and one in Franklin, Idaho according to Aaron Simpson, the vice president of communications for Maverik. He said the company’s success comes from the experience customers have in the store.
“We offer our customers an experience that’s different than anything else you can get at other convenience stores,” Simpson said. “Just the environment of the store and the fresh food, and what we have to offer that way.”
Michelle Molen, the district manager said the company wants to add to the convenience by offering more locations.
“If you live on the south end, if you live on the north end, east or west, you’ll just have so many opportunities and it’s just more convenient for people to stop into,” Molen said.
Old layouts of the buildings were close to 4,000 square feet according to Molen. The new templates are close to 5,000 square feet for food service.
