The Utah’s Department of National Resources reports that most of Utah is in either the extreme or exceptional drought category. According to the Utah Division of Water Resources, one way Utahns can help reduce their water usage by investing in smart sprinkler systems.
The deputy director of the Utah Division of Water Resources Candice Hasenyager says smart systems take the guesswork out of how much your lawn needs and how often you should water.
Hasenyager says Smart sprinkler systems help save water by scheduling watering sessions based on the weather, soil moisture and the current drought category.
The DWR is offering a rebate program that covers the cost of a smart sprinkler system up to $75, making them free or almost free, depending on which model you buy.
