A 37-year-old Utah woman has been hit and killed by a school bus southwest of Salt Lake City.

Police have identified the victim of Thursday morning's accident as Becky Bell of Kearns.

Bell was attempting to cross the street when she was struck by the bus at about 7 a.m. in Kearns near 5240 W. 5400 South.

Neither of the two children on the bus was hurt. One was in a wheelchair. Both were transferred to another bus following the accident.

Police say Bell lives about a block away from the scene and may have been trying to catch a UTA bus.

No other details have been released. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
