It’s that time of year when the American West Heritage Center in Wellsville hosts Baby Animal Days. This annual event typically entertains 3,000 to 5,000 guests, and after 20 years has become a popular hands-on tradition throughout Cache Valley.
Sarah Gunnell, the office manager of American West Heritage Center, explained that families look forward to this event every year.
“My favorite thing about Baby Animal Days is seeing the multigenerational family groups that come out and just enjoy being together and coming back to the old fashioned farm is always a really special thing," she said.
Every year, the employees and volunteers at the heritage center try to bring a nonfarm animal to surprise the guests; for the past few years that nonfarm animal has been cubs from Yellowstone Bear World.
Karen Larson, the program and volunteer manager at the American West Heritage Center, said while at Baby Animal Days, guests are encouraged to look around the museum so adults and children can get an idea of what it was like to live in Cache Valley in past centuries.
“It’s just a great opportunity to build long-lasting memories with your family and maybe learn a little bit about how grandma and grandpa used to live," Larson said.
Baby Animal Days will be held from April 3-6.
