Utah Democratic gubernatorial candidate Chris Peterson has named a health care advocate as his running mate. The Deseret News reports Peterson announced Monday that he has chosen Karina Brown of Nibley to share the Democratic ticket with him. Nibley helped sponsor a successful Medicaid expansion ballot initiative known as Proposition 3 in 2018 and has run for the state House of Representatives. Brown cited their common background of advocacy work, saying she expects Peterson's work in consumer protection and her efforts in helping to expand health care coverage to resonate with Utah voters.
