Utah sees recording-breaking COVID-19 testing numbers after Thanksgiving

TestUtah is seeing record-breaking numbers as many Utahns are lining up to make sure they are safe after their Thanksgiving gatherings and travel.Nomi Health spokesperson Carolina Herrin says the company recently did 9,600 tests in a single day, which is the most they’ve ever done in a day since the pandemic started.

The state health department says testing has already been increasing as we moved into fall seasons. The department says demand for testing went down significantly in the summer, only to bounce back up in the fall, remaining consistently high since September.

Herrin does not want anyone to be deterred by long lines or wait times for COVID-19 tests. She says the lines move really quickly and it only takes about 15 minutes to get results.
