Several Utah healthcare providers announced Wednesday they are putting a hold on requiring vaccines for employees. The decision comes after courts halted the federal mandate that required all caregivers to be vaccinated. In a statement, Intermountain Healthcare says it is “temporarily pausing enforcement of the vaccine requirement for caregivers until there is clearer direction from the courts.” The statement also says that over 95% of Intermountain employees are already vaccinated.
MountainStar Healthcare also announced it would be halting vaccine requirements, saying the company is pausing on requirements, except in states that have mandated vaccination.
University of Utah Health is going in a different direction. It will continue mandating vaccination while waiting for additional direction from state leaders.
