The Utah Department of Transportation says it’s ready to see some snow and clear it from the roads.
November’s dry weather gave UDOT snow plow drivers plenty of time to prepare for this week’s snowfall. UDOT maintenance station shed Robert Giolas says with the time the dry weather’s been providing, they’ve been doing a lot more maintenance of the roadways.
Giolas says they have also gone through all of the trucks “two or three times just to make sure everything is good to go” before plowing begins.
For Utahns who will be driving in the thick of the storm, Giolas asks that you keep clear of the plows. He says it's best to stay behind the plows, don’t try to pass them, and let them do their jobs. He also asks that Utahns be patient because the trucks don’t go over over 35 miles per hour while plowing.
