Salt Lake City has submitted a bid to host the 2024 Republican National Convention.

Strategies 360 has been leading the bid effort with Visit Salt Lake. Senior Vice President of Strategies 360 Mike Deaver confirmed the application was hand-delivered last Wednesday to the Republican National Committee. Deaver says the application is confidential and will not be released yet.

This is the third time Salt Lake City has tried to host the convention. Previous efforts to host the 2012 and 2016 conventions failed.

Utah’s capital city will face competition from several other cities including Miluwaukee.
