Logan Canyon was in both directions Sunday night because of a new wildfire.
The Blind Hollow Fire was discovered at about 6:30 p.m. on Sunday near Temple Fork, about halfway between Logan and Garden City.
As of 9:45 p.m., it had burned 15 acres.
Firefighters were sent to the scene soon after, including a helicopter.
Forest Service officials said the fire’s growth was not very active. No evacuations are in place.
According to the Utah Department of Transportation, US-89 is closed on both ends of the canyon — eastbound US-89 is closed at Mile Point 461 near Logan, and westbound is closed at Mile Point 498 near Garden City.
There is no estimated time of reopening.
