The 2026 season of the Alive After 5 concert series is at Laub Plaza in downtown Logan, offering a series of free, family-friendly evenings for the Logan community. Neighbors and visitors are invited to gather at 55 North Main every Wednesday for live performances and community connection.

Wednesday August 26th: Moonspinners

Designed as a welcoming space for all ages, the event transforms the plaza into an open-air theater.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite blankets and low-back chairs to settle in for the show. The concerts begin at 7:00 PM in the heart of downtown Logan.

The bear riverland conservancy at Stokes nature Center are hosting a volunteer appreciation celebration with music from White Pine Lonesome on Thursday August 7th at 6:00 p.m. in Mendon. Space is limited and reservations are required.

On August 27, 2026, the Bear River Land Conservancy and Stokes Nature Center are joining forces for the Mendon BBQ and Volunteer Appreciation Party. This isn’t just a celebration; it’s a tribute to the volunteers and supporters who keep our wild spaces wild and our community connected to the natural world.

To keep the energy high, Logan’s own White Pine Lonesome will be providing the soundtrack. Known for their soulful blend of folk, bluegrass, and "whatever strikes their fancy," this quartet (Kelin Gibbons, Wade Evans, Rip Nolan, and Travis Taylor) is a local favorite that is guaranteed to bring the crowd to their feet.

Space is limited, so the location will only be shared with those who RSVP! We are asking for a suggested donation of $20 to help us throw this party, unless you volunteered with BRLC or Stokes at any point this year.

Two internationally touring folk/Americana duos, The Rough & Tumble and Flagship Romance combine for a night of high energy, four part harmonies, infectious hooks and a roomful of laughter. It took over 10 years and 500,000 miles of touring the indie/folk circuit and seeing each other’s posters on venue walls before the two bands met. But it only took one meeting before they’d started a text thread and concocted the idea of the Rough Romance tour. It’s a night of open-armed, deep-in-the-belly-songs that are as intimate as they are universal and as delightful as your first cup of coffee. It’s a jubilant show that has become the highlight of the year for many people to watch these four accomplished musicians and friends share the stage.

Designed as a welcoming space for all ages, the event transforms the plaza into an open-air theater.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite blankets and low-back chairs to settle in for the show. Each screening begins at 8:00 PM, providing a perfect way for families to kick off their weekends together in the heart of downtown Logan.

Guests are invited to explore the night sky at Snowpine Lodge in Alta by moving between various telescopes, each focused on different celestial objects throughout the evening of September 10th. Astronomers will highlight multiple points of interest, and due to the variety of scopes and eyepieces, even viewing the same object through different instruments will offer a unique perspective. We strongly encourage and welcome all questions.

This is an all-ages event, and ladders will be provided to ensure smaller children can comfortably view through the telescopes.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Snowpine Lodge.

Please dress warmly for the evening as temperatures can be cold. We recommend wearing warm clothes, gloves, a hat, and bringing hand warmers.

Please note: This event is contingent upon favorable weather conditions. In the event of a cancellation, participants will be notified.

To preserve your night vision, please ensure your phones are turned off. It takes approximately 30 minutes for eyes to fully adapt to the dark after exposure to bright light. Once accustomed, your night vision will be significantly enhanced. Should you choose to bring a flashlight, only red-light flashlights are permissible, as red light does not impair night vision.

We kindly suggest a donation of $5 per adult. Your contribution will support Friends of Alta in their vital efforts to protect our beloved environment for future generations. By participating, you are supporting a valuable cause and positively impacting the preservation of Little Cottonwood Canyon.
