The Unified Police Department is investigating a threatening letter that was sent to an Asian-American business in Taylorsville. This comes just a few weeks after a Georgia gunman killed eight people, including six of Asian descent in March. According to areport from FOX 13, police say the letter didn’t have a return address and there’s no video evidence of anyone dropping the letter at the business. Since the letter was sent via United States mail, the Postal Inspector is helping with the investigation.
Sgt. Meledo Cutler with Unified Police said this letter “threatens a lot of people” and they are looking at “serious charges” against the person who sent the letter.
Unified Police are asking anyone who may have received a similar letter to come forward, as it would provide more evidence that could lead detectives to the perpetrator.
