New Wednesday Market Opens On Logan's Center Street

The new Center Street Market began on Wednesday and will feature a variety of venders each week.

On Wednesday, a variety of businesses came together on Logan’s Center Street for the new weekly market event.

“This will run 19 weeks. Every Wednesday from today till September 15,” said Gary Saxton, the manager of Logan’s Downtown Alliance. He said the market will run from 8 a.m. until “late” each week.

The alliance organized this event as a way to bring the community together.

“When Center Street was remodeled in 2019, that’s when we started planning for this type of an event to occur,” Saxton said. “And with COVID last year, it kinda went away. But this has been the plan for two years.”

Although there is no longer a statewide mask mandate, Saxton said there will be social distancing.

“We are still trying to keep things still a little bit physically distanced for people,” he said. “We don't know how busy this can get so we are just spacing out the vendors.”

Callus and Ty Herzogs own a small dutch oven kitchen business called Taters-N-Things. They came to the first market and are excited for the opportunity.

“This opportunity has been great,” Ty Herzogs said. “To be able to set up during the week and have a really good spot to try to sell our food so we could expand this year.”

Saxton said there are still open market spots for vendors.
