High Speed Chase from Arizona to Utah Ends in Head-on Collision

Three people remain hospitalized following a high speed chase that began in Arizona and ended in Utah after a driver may have tried to purposely cause a head-on collision.

Arizona troopers attempted to stop a motorist on northbound I-15, but the vehicle failed to stop.  The pursuit reached speeds of 115 miles per hour through the Virgin River Gorge.

When the suspect crossed into Utah, UHP troopers deployed spikes, but the suspect continued northbound, then crossed the median into the southbound lanes of traffic and appeared to turn into a southbound vehicle which had changed lanes to avoid collision.

The suspect, 34-year-old Zane Sterling Skeen of Oregon was transported by medical helicopter to Las Vegas, while the occupants of the southbound vehicle, residents of Sandy, Utah were transported by ambulance to Dixie Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
