Soon you may see a new TV advertisement from the Center for Western Priorities, a conservation policy organization, that will only play in a few western states for a very specific reason.
The ads will play in Utah, Colorado, Nevada, Montana, New Mexico and Arizona. The two ads feature people outside enjoying the land, riding on mountain bikes and hiking.
The Center for Western Priorities is hoping to influence public policy makers in those states by reminding them that westerners tend to vote for candidates who “vote for the outdoors.”
According to public opinion research conducted by the PR firm Purple Strategies, over 90 percent of voters in Colorado, Nevada and Montana believe public lands are essential to their state’s economy.
