Utah To Receive $2.5B In Pandemic Relief

The U.S. Department of the Treasury has released its spending amounts and guidelines for the $350 billion in pandemic relief funding, and roughly $2.5 billion is coming to Utah, according to a report from KUTV.According to a news release from the Department of the Treasury, the money can be used to support public health expenditures, small businesses and workers and communities and industries hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic. 


Sophia DiCaro, executive director of the Utah Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget, said plans are still being made on how to specifically spend the money. She said leaders will target businesses and industries that are struggling the worst. Her office also added the Utah state government will get the first payout of about $669 million this month.
