Donovan Mitchell Says Move To Ban Critical Race Theory From Utah’s Curriculum is ‘Unfortunate’

Basketball star Donovan Mitchell, a prominent leader in promoting social justice in Utah and across the country, called the resolution by Utah House and Senate Republicans against the teaching of critical race theory in Utah schools “unfortunate.” According to FOX 13, Mitchell wasn’t aware the resolution had passed the House and Senate when he was asked about it Thursday. He said he was disappointed “that that’s a conversation that’s had” and that its very important for kids to understand there’s “definitely discrimination in this country.”

Mitchell said he’s going to continue raising awareness and promoting education, despite the resolutions passed in the legislature.
