Ogden Fire Results In Massive Damage, Loss

Over 80 firefighters responded to a fire in Ogden that lasted from Monday night to Tuesday morning. Five homes and an apartment complex burned in the blaze and firefighters are continuing to douse hot spots.

The fire was so intense that fire trucks, other nearby vehicles and nearby businesses were damaged. This included a rental car company where over 10 cars melted. The apartment complex that caught on fire is a total loss. Two women who suffered smoke inhalation were taken to the hospital and their condition is currently unknown.

The block experienced a power shortage early Tuesday morning as crews worked to replace burned power poles. It’s estimated that at least 10 civilians were displaced by the fire.

Fire officials still don’t know what caused the fire and many say this is the largest fire they have fought in the city of Ogden.
