The Utah Senate approved House Bill 215 which would create a school voucher program so parents can use public funding to pay for private education for their children, despite opposition from the Utah Education Association and the Utah State Board of Education. The program was tied to a popular teacher pay raise from Gov. Spencer Cox. A similar voucher proposition failed to pass during the last legislative session.
